If you’re wondering how in the blazes are we already heading into the second half of 2019 (?!) – just know you’re not alone! On the bright side however, July means Eagan’s 2-day July 4th Funfest is right around the corner and so is the wildly popular 4th of July Parade!

Eagan’s July 4th Funfest Parade boasts over 80 floats of Independence Day cheer. That means two hours of jovial entertainment and boatloads of treats and goodies! Eagan takes great pride in the production of the 4th of July parade and the selection of the parade’s grand marshals. This year’s Grand Marshals are *drumroll please*… Natalie Darwitz and Tabitha Peterson!

Natalie Darwitz is arguably the most well-known name in Minnesota women’s hockey history. She is also a multi-decorated player on the international scene and just finished a very successful fourth season as the head coach of the Hamline University women’s hockey program. The Eagan, Minnesota native has been part of the Minnesota hockey scene for nearly two decades.

Curling Olympian, Tabitha Peterson, graduated from Eagan High School in 2007 and attended the University of Minnesota earning her bachelor’s degree in 2011 and PharmD in 2015. She also competed at the 2018 Winter Olympic Games in PyeongChang, South Korea in the sport of curling. Tabitha currently works for CVS/Pharmacy in Target and continues to train for the 2022 Olympic Games.
Two very impressive ladies! We can’t wait to have and honor them this Fourth of July.
After all the parade fun, you’ll want to head over to the Funfest carnival, band shell with live music and, of course, the fireworks to round out America’s birthday festivities!
